Friends to help Henderson resident
Friends and family of Henderson resident Erik Nelson are joining to host a fund-raising dinner and silent auction to support Nelson and his family in their fight against leukemia.
The benefit will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Four Seasons at Mandalay Bay. Tickets are $85.
Nelson, 28, his wife, Melanie, and their two sons have lived in the Las Vegas Valley for six years. Working as a pilot for more than 10 years, Nelson had just interviewed for his dream job -- a pilot for Southwest Airlines -- a week before his diagnosis with a rare form of leukemia.
Instead of moving on to a new job, he went on disability, which ran out Nov. 1. For more information call Patricia at 435-5266 or Candace at 269-3005.

The candlelight vigil will be a memorial service for those who have died from AIDS, a tribute to those with HIV and a prayer for surviving friends. Call 642-2220.
