Comedian Jerry Lewis is scheduled to headline here in January 2000, marking the sixth decade he has performed on a Las Vegas stage.
Lewis, 73, first appeared with his late partner Dean Martin at the Flamingo Hotel in 1949. He has performed in many of the city's resorts in the years that followed, eventually adopting Las Vegas as his home.
His engagement Jan. 13-16 at the Orleans Hotel will be the first here since the early nineties. He has spent most of the past decade starring as the Devil in the Broadway show Damn Yankees and touring the country.
Lewis was sidelined in August by a serious bout with viral meningitis.
He recovered and was able to host his annual Labor Day telethon for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
