DETROIT -- Detroit casino executive Lyn Baxter is resigning from MGM Grand Inc. of Las Vegas, citing personal reasons.
Baxter, president of the 4-month-old MGM Grand Detroit casino, says he's resigning to return to Las Vegas but declined extensive elaboration, the Detroit News reported.
Baxter said he does not have a job lined up with MGM Grand or any other casino in Las Vegas, saying family matters will initially command most of his time.
Replacing Baxter as interim Detroit president for MGM Grand is Scott Snow, an executive at MGM Grand's New York-New York hotel-casino in Las Vegas, the News reported.
Baxter came to MGM Grand Detroit from the MGM Grand hotel-casino in Las Vegas. "He has served our company very well and is a man of high integrity," said MGM Grand Chairman and Chief Executive Terry Lanni.
