Letter: Television station’s chopper robbing senior of sleep
Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1999 | 9:08 a.m.
I blamed the Las Vegas Housing Authority for a faulty underground sprinkling system that was in need of repair. I was moved to another apartment in the project two months ago and the problem continued.
KVBC-TV, Channel 3 is adjacent to Archie Grant. The problem is their helicopter. The revving time before takeoff and the return disturbance is an on-and-off, all-night deal. Seniors living close to the station feel they just have to live with it.
One lady called the station and got an apology. In my case, I have an ear condition that causes sound to magnify.
Under the circumstances I feel obliged to apologize to Executive Director Frederic Brown and the office and maintenance staff of the Las Vegas Housing Authority.
If Channel 3 has the authority to disturb the peace and sleep of the seniors who reside next to their facility I guess I will not be able to fight City Hall!
