Lawsuit filed over tire competition

Transport Tire Service Inc. is seeking an injunction against its former manager, Richard Murawski, prohibiting him from using any Transport price lists and bid sheets and from soliciting business from its clients.

In a Clark County District Court suit, Transport Tire, a commercial and truck tire wholesaler, said Murawski, who went to work for its rival Firebird Commercial Tire & Retreading Inc., tried to hurt Transport Tire's business by allegedly soliciting the account of one of its existing clients Las Vegas Paving.

The suit alleged Murawski faces criminal charges after being arrested on Sep. 24 on charges of stealing more than $3,000 from Transport Tire. It alleges he had knowledge of Transport Tire's trade secrets because he had helped prepare a confidential price proposal to Las Vegas Paving for its tire needs.

Transport is seeking an order to have Murawski terminated from his employment with Firebird and prohibiting him from working in the industry for two years.

"He denies the allegations," responded Alzora Jackson, Murawski's attorney.
