Letter: Animals need us to protect them

I believe that humans are supposed to be the animals' caretakers and protectors. I do not condone violence, it solves nothing, but I can understand where these organizations in frustration might act in such a manner. I'm sure they have tried nonviolent actions with little or no success.

Thank God for the caring individuals or organizations that do help with animal rights, because without them they wouldn't have a stinking chance. Even now their chances are slim. People need to wake up and realize there are other beings that share this planet that deserve reverence and respect.
