The Reno City Council on Tuesday approved a 38.6 rate hike to be implemented over five years.
Monthly residential rates will rise from $14 to $15 dollars in April. The rate will increase $1.10 each April after that through 2004.
Connection fees will increase $300 dollars each year, to $3,125 by the end of five years.
City officials said the increases are needed to pay for sewer system construction and maintenance projects.
