State engineer urged to deny DOE water use at Yucca Mt.
CARSON CITY -- A state attorney said Tuesday that granting the Department of Energy a water permit to develop and operate a high-level nuclear dump at Yucca Mountain was "a clear and present danger to the robust economy of Nevada."

* LAKE MOHAVE -- Rainbow trout fishing has been good for boaters and shore anglers in the Willow Beach area due to recent plants. Striped bass that weighed 26 and 23 pounds were caught above Willow Beach last week. The Nevada Division of Wildlife stocked rainbow trout at Cottonwood Cove on Monday and Hoover Dam and Placer Cove on Tuesday and Powerline Cove on Wednesday. Small stripers have been caught recently at Cottonwood East in Cottonwood Basin by boaters who are trolling anchovies with lead line. Stripers in that area generally range in size from one to three pounds.
