Letter: Desert wasteland well suited for airport site

Dianne Feinstein, the California senator, is skeptical about Ivanpah because she believes that she gave birth to the preserve. Why is she concerned? Is she worried about the mountain sheep who are not there or the desert tortoises who aren't there on the lake bed? Or is she worried because those fauna might hear an airplane coming in to land. How about all of us fauna in Las Vegas who hear airplanes come into McCarran International Airport?
Is the National Park Service concerned because Feinstein is concerned? I thought that the Park Service was chartered to remain neutral and serve the taxpayer. And the BLM, just because they froze its 10-year land use plan, they are too lazy to redo it for Ivanpah? That is preposterous. Are these feds working for us or for themselves?
Ivanpah means too much to Southern Nevadans to put up with this nonsense.
