Husband accused of running over wife charged with DUI

Lisa Lorraine Peters, 27, was in the driveway and her husband, Jeff Arnold Peters, 36, was in the shower when officers arrived at the couple's home Sunday night.

"He dropped her in the driveway and told his son she was hurt in the driveway and to call her an ambulance," Police Sgt. Bob McDonald said.

The woman later died during surgery at Washoe Medical Center.

McDonald said the two had been drinking at a local bar. Mrs. Peters fell from the couple's pickup truck while on the way home.

Jeff Peters apparently backed up to retrieve his wife but ran over her, police said.

Witnesses told police they saw Jeff Peters load what looked like a body into his truck.

When asked if he needed assistance, witnesses said Peters told them it was his dead dog. One person called police after hearing moans.
