The name of a man killed Wednesday in a car accident at the intersection of Gibson Road and Boulder Highway has been released by Metro Police.
Thomas Eugene Smith, 37, a Las Vegas plumber, was killed at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday when his 1971 Volkswagon bug, which police say may have been speeding and traveling without headlights, was struck by a 1994 Chevrolet Geo Tracker driven by Barbara Yingling, 44, of Henderson.
Smith died at the scene after his car went off the road and ran into a telephone pole.
Metro is still investigating and Yingling has not been cited.
