Letter: No-return law on vehicles is wrong
Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999 | 9:25 a.m.
This allows the car dealers to deny any return they choose.
So if you or a family member get talked into a deal by shady sales tactics at a large or small car dealer you are on your own with no recourse. You would think we, the consumer, should have protection in this state as they do in other states. So I would suggest next time you go out to shop for a new or used car take your lawyer with you or hire one.
I think it's a shame that the consumer has to do this and that the lawmakers provided such protection to the car dealers and not to the people who make up the majority.
So I only have one question: Are we suffering from a good old boy state or is it an oversight on the lawmakers' part?
