Publicly traded eBay.com, a website where buyers and sellers auction a variety of items in hundreds of categories, has developed a Las Vegas trading area.
Located on the Internet at www.ebay.com/lasvegas, the site lists sellers in the Las Vegas area and operates by the same guidelines as the national site that has more than 7.7 million registered users.
Founded in 1995, eBay has more than 3.2 million items listed for sale and more than 400,000 items are added daily under 2,000 categories.
The Las Vegas site has categories of regional interest, such as casino memorabilia, Elvis collectibles and UNLV paraphernalia.
"eBay's local sites deliver a distinctive regional flavor, providing a new marketplace," said Reed Maltzman, director of eBay regional.
Among the items posted on the site today: slot machine components, currently bid at $1, and two floor tickets to the Barbra Streisand New Year's Eve concert, currently bid at $4,000.
