Las Vegas area fishing report

LAKE MEAD: The arrival of hunting season has brought a noticeable decline in the number of anglers who are fishing at the lake. However, those who have been fishing are finding fairly good action for striped bass. During the past week, the action for stripers has made considerable improvement at Gypsum Wash. Other areas that are producing fish include Bonelli Bay, Hemenway Harbor, Las Vegas Wash and the Virgin Bowl.
LAKE MOHAVE: Fishing remains good for small striped bass on the Arizona side of Cottonwood Basin from Cottonwood East to the fence line. Drifting and trolling baits have been catching the fish. Over the weekend, a boater caught a 10-pound striper in front of Cottonwood Cove Marina.
WAYNE E. KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA: Rainbow trout fishing success continues to decline as the water temperature drops. Anglers are now catching approximately one fish per hour.
EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR: Anglers are enjoying fair action for rainbow and brown trout, despite the cold water temperature. A fly fisherman reported he caught 10 trout -- including four browns -- from shore last weekend. Bait fishing has been fair from the dam and fishing dock.
