Marilyn Kay Hail, owner of the Quick 'N' Easy Market in Las Vegas, has agreed to pay a $5,000 fine and to have her state gaming license revoked for permitting her husband, William, to work in the business.
Hail and Deputy Attorney General Lou Dorn signed a stipulation to resolve a complaint filed by the state Gaming Control Board earlier this year against the owner and the business with three slot machines at 2934 Lake East Drive. The agreement must be approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission, which meets later this month in Las Vegas.
When Hail received her license in 1993, a condition was placed on it that her husband, William R. Hail, was not to be involved in the business without being licensed because of his unsuitable background. But gaming board agents found him acting as manager of Quick 'N' Easy in September. Marilyn Hail told agents she had family problems, including the death of a son, which led to her husband running the business.
