The Indiana Gaming Commission on Monday approved Boyd Gaming Corp.'s acquisition of the Blue Chip riverboat casino in Michigan City, Ind.
Boyd said it expects the $255 million cash deal to close Wednesday.
"The Blue Chip acquisition marks our 12th property in our fifth state, further diversifying our sources of cash flow and earnings," Boyd Chairman William S. Boyd said.
Las Vegas-based Boyd Gaming operates 11 casinos in Nevada, Mississippi, Illinois and Louisiana and is developing a $750 million Italian-themed resort in Atlantic City in a joint venture with Mirage Resorts Inc.
