UNLV golf ties for seventh

HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The seventh-ranked UNLV golf team shot a final-round 2-under-par 286 to finish tied for seventh place at the 18-team Rolex/Golf World/Palmetto Dunes Collegiate Invitational at the par-72, 6,651-yard Aurthur Hills Golf Course Sunday.
The Rebels (286-278-286-850) finished tied with South Carolina at 14-under. Georgia won the team title at 27-under, while Georgia Tech finished second, four shots back.
Rounding out the top six were Texas, Clemson, Arizona State and Florida Southern.
Individually, Georgia's Erik Compton (66-66-71-203) held on to win medalist honors at 13-under. UNLV's Jeremy Anderson (70-64-71-205) tied with Florida Southern's Jeff Klauk, Georgia's Nick Cassini, and Clemson's Lucas Glover for second place, two back.
