Letter: Time takes toll on human condition
Friday, Nov. 5, 1999 | 9:18 a.m.
I don't know about all you readers and those who write to the "Letters" section, but I, for one, get a little weary of all the complaints and can only wish for a brighter side to humanity. So, along with the complaints, I am submitting my humorous "complaint."
The older, the wiser, so people say, but sometimes that's not what is happening along my way. Older? Oh yes! Very true. Wiser? Well maybe, I'm not sure I can tell. But one thing I do know all too well, it's bags, sags and wrinkles! My muscle tone isn't failing -- it down-right fell. I could dye the gray of my hair or maybe fake eyelashes if I dare, but the years have their own way of telling and counting the toll. The taut body also gave up the ghost -- it's bags, sags and wrinkles -- and a tummy roll. And to top it all off, it's skin like dry toast.
If you're young and you read this, it might bring a smile but as for us older folks, is there a hot line we can dial? A bags, sags and wrinkles help website?
If you haven't met me as yet, don't worry young ones, you'll get there -- no sweat!
Be nice when you meet me, it could be the mirror to your future.
