Letter: Poppy drives benefit veterans

Annually, various veterans' organizations take part in a poppy drive in observance of Veterans Day. The members volunteer their time to ask for donations in order to help our hospitalized, disabled and homeless veterans. We are stationed at various locations throughout the city.

Although, for identification, each veterans' organization has its own name imprinted on the label of each poppy, the money collected benefits needy veterans regardless of their religion or race.

Sincere thanks to our caring donors for their generous contributions during our poppy drives. This is a way for a grateful nation to say "Thank you" to our veterans who now need our help.
