Firm to install progressive slots in Australia

SYDNEY, Australia -- TAB Ltd., Australia's largest wagering company, will buy a 50 percent stake in Mikohn Gaming Corp.'s Australian business for an undisclosed price.

TAB, a racing and sports betting company, said it also hired Las Vegas-based Mikohn to install the first wide area progressive jackpot system in New South Wales state, Australia's most populous.

"These arrangements secure access to technology which has proven compatibility with existing electronic gaming machines in New South Wales," said Warren Wilson, managing director of TAB.
