The West Las Vegas Library, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd., will present its third International Drum Festival, a hands-on workshop, lecture, demonstration and jam session, noon to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Drums used for rites of passage and as forms of communication will be used. Call 647-8169.

Problem Solving Day planned on Saturday

The Internal Revenue Service office, 4750 W. Oakey Blvd., will hold its Problem Solving Day 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

IRS specialists will help with questions about payment plans or unresolved tax issues. Appointments are recommended but not necessary. Call 455-1287.

Middle school will offer food, entertainment

Hyde Park Middle School is holding a craft fair 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the school, 900 Hinson Ave., near Charleston and Valley View boulevards.

Free hiking tours will begin Saturday

Lake Mead National Recreation Center is holding free hiking tours beginning Saturday with a 6-mile hike through Lovell Canyon and Anniversary Mine.

Hikers are to meet at the Alan Bible Visitor Center, just off Highway 93, at 9 a.m. Other hikes include the Bowl of Fire, Nov. 13; Pinto Valley, Nov. 20; and Overton area hike, Nov. 27. Reservations are required. Call 293-8990.

World of Coca-Cola to celebrate holiday

The World of Coca-Cola Las Vegas, 3785 Las Vegas Blvd. South, will celebrate Veterans Day beginning Saturday through Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

Events will feature World War II era memorabilia and the Coca-Cola Classics quartet performing songs of the swing era 3 to 6 p.m. daily.

The World of Coca-Cola opens at 10 a.m. daily. Admission is $3.50.

Fishing derby

The city of Henderson's eighth annual fishing derby will be held 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the BMI Outdoor Pool, 105 Basic Road. Registration is available on a limited basis. Admission is free. Call 565-2123.

Chautauqua presentation

The North Las Vegas Library District presents its Chautauqua presentation and workshop featuring Fred Horlacher as Brigham Young 2 to 5 p.m. Friday at the North Las Vegas Library, 2300 Civic Center Drive. Call 633-1070.
