Michael G. Andress, 34, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 3, 1964, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was the vice president of an asphalt company, a motorcycle and automobile enthusiast, a member of the Associated Building Contractors, the Southern Home Builders Association, and was a participant in the Best in the Desert motor sports events.
He is survived by his wife, Louwanna E. Andress; one daughter, Michael Y. Andress, his parents, Donald and Madeleine Andress; one sister, Melanie Tobiasson, one brother, Todd Tobiasson, and one niece, Sarah, all of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 2 until a 5:30 p.m. vigil Thursday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Mass will be 9:15 a.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Burial will be in Palm Cemetery, Northwest.

John Adam Apfel
John Adam Apfel, 50, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 2, 1949, in New York. A resident for 30 years, he was a registered nurse.
He is survived by one son, Matthew Apfel, and one daughter, Jennifer E. Apfel, both of Las Vegas; four brothers, Paul Apfel of California, George Apfel of Las Vegas, Henry Apfel of Florida and Bob Apfel of South Carolina; one sister, Ginny Barnett of Texas; and one grandchild.

Louise Blalock, 74, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born March 23, 1925, in Cleveland, Miss. A resident for 30 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Blalock of Farmer City, Ill., and Rodney Blalock of Sherwood, Ark.; one daughter, Barbara Anderson of Florissant, Mo.; five sisters, Thelmas Zipprian of Vidor, Texas, Mary Tuttle of Medford, Ore., and Dorothy Woolley, Ann Whitten and Georgia Gambini, all of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and one grandchild.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services are scheduled 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Chester Booth, 78, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born July 6, 1921, in Ozan, Ark. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired porter and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by one daughter, Peggy Payne; one sister, Ruth Williams; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Ezra John Bowden
Ezra John Bowden, 39, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born July 25, 1960, in Provo, Utah. He was a carpenter, avid bowler and sportsman.
He is survived by his wife, Laraine Hope, and four daughters, Tiffanie, Laryssa, Mallory and Savannah; his parents; eight brothers and sisters; his grandmother, Eva Bowden; and his mother-in-law, Delilah Outram.
Services were scheduled at noon today in the LDS Meadow Stake Center, 3200 Mustang St.
Seymour "Skye" Brooks
Seymour "Skye" Brooks, 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 8, 1923, in Chicago. A resident for five years, he was a retired carpet dealer.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta; one son, Glenn Brooks of Overland Park, Kan.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

William W. Brown, 85, of Henderson died Monday in a local care center. He was born June 6, 1914, in Trafalgar, Ind. A resident for 61 years, he was a retired civilian personnel office worker for the government.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle; two sons, Robert Brown of Las Vegas and William Brown of La Palma, Calif.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Cemetery.

Kenneth Glenn Brumage, 69, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 8, 1930, in California. A resident for five years, he was a police officer and an Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; one son, Glenn Brumage of California; three daughters, Lynn Holt, Leah Griffin and Laura Craruso, all of California; and 11 grandchildren.

Akiko Castillo of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born in Tokyo. A resident for 24 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest; one daughter, Kristen Castillo of Tempe, Ariz.; two sons, Ernest Castillo Jr. and Ronald Castillo, both of Las Vegas; four sisters; two brothers; and two grandchildren.

Walter H. Contrades, 52, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 26, 1946, in Honolulu. A resident for 23 years, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant and Vietnam War veteran, was active with the Boys and Girls Clubs and worked the last 15 years at Nellis Air Force Base as a general's aide.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary, one daughter, Shawnna Contrades, and one son, Randy Contrades, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Kuulei Patton and Nani Keliikoa, both of Honolulu; five brothers, Ernest Contrades, Sam Contrades, Kenny Contrades and Kent Contrades, all of Hawaii, and Mala Contrades of California; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Alice Culbertson, 69, of Oklahoma died Sunday in Oklahoma. She was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Allen, Okla. A former resident of Las Vegas, she was a retired schoolteacher.
She is survived by three daughters, LuAnn Lafferry of Allen, Katherine Alice Cannella of Ada, Okla., and Susan Ericka Lafferry of Miami, Okla.; her mother, Glossye Jared Isaacs; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

John R. Erickson, 77, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 20, 1922, in Warren, Minn. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired vice president of operations and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; four daughters, Mary Banks of West Chicago, Joanne Schmidt of Lockport, Ill., Susan Milton of Warrenville, Ill., and Elizabeth Elliott of Malta, Ill.; and eight grandchildren.

Mollie Etkin, 98, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born April 9, 1901, in Russia. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired liquor distributor bookkeeper.
She is survived by one daughter, Bernice Diwald of Las Vegas; one son, Sidney Etkin of New Jersey; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; two sons, Larry Phillips of Las Vegas and Ralph Fuller of North Las Vegas; three daughters, Peggy Phillips of Las Vegas, Anita Rochelle of Oakland, Calif., and Sharon Fuller of North Las Vegas; one sister, Jean Anne Fuller of Richmond, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Edward B. Graham, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born May 14, 1918, in Bell County, Texas. A resident for 34 years, he was a retired engineer in the aerospace industry and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
He is survived by two daughters, Anita G. Young and Cynthia Arney, one son, Edward R. Graham, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Melba Kessler of Belton, Texas; his step-mother, Tommie Lee Graham of The Grove, Texas; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
Paul Albert Griffin
Paul Albert Griffin, 69 of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born March 18, 1930, in Fordyce, Ark. A resident for 47 years, he was a chef and an Army veteran.
He is survived by three daughters, Addie Dawson, Shirley Chase and Lisa Gaston, all of Las Vegas; four sons, Leon Samuel of California, Stanford Griffin, Samuel Griffin and Darrell Griffin, all of Las Vegas; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled noon-8 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services are scheduled 11 a.m. Saturday at Pentecostal Temple, Church of God in Christ.
Lanore "Lee" Jones
Lanore "Lee" Jones, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born May 4, 1918, in Denver, Colo. A resident for 45 years, she was the former owner and operator of the Minute Man Motel in Las Vegas.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Hagedorn of Sacramento and LaRae Jones of Chino, Calif.; her companion, Devon Lemburg; and two grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Robert Eugene Kenney
Robert Eugene Kenney, 65, of Las Vegas died Monday at a local hospice. He was born Jan. 30, 1934, in Boston, Mass. A resident for 34 years, he was a retired laborer in the construction industry and a peacetime U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by one brother, John Kenney Jr. of Meriden, Conn.

Rocco LaRocco
Rocco LaRocco, 66, of Henderson, died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born April 24, 1933, in Chicago, Ill. A resident for one-and-a-half years, he was a retired insurance adjuster, Korean War Air Force veteran and a 23-year member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
He is survived by his wife, Mary E. LaRocco; two daughters, Karen Williams of Henderson and Diane LaRocco of Edgerton, Wis.; one brother, Thomas LaRocco of Henderson; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. today at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Ruth Clark Maughan
Ruth Clark Maughan, 86, formerly of Provo, Utah, died Sunday in Provo. She was born July 2, 1913, in Cedar City, Utah. A former resident of Las Vegas, she was a teacher and dean of women and counselor for many years at Rancho High School. She loved to dance and taught dancing, helped produce and create the 1976 bicentennial celebration.
She is survived by one daughter, Beth Maughan Tingey of Kaysville, Utah; three sons, Paul G. Maughan of Holladay, Utah, Heber C. Maughan of Sandy, Utah, and Robert C. Maughan of Provo; one sister, Helen Griffiths of Midway; one brother, Porter A. Clark of California; and 16 grandchildren.
Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today at the LDS Olympus Stake Center in Salt Lake City. Cannon Mortuary Funeral Home handled arrangements.

John Joseph Maxwell, 85, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born April 25, 1914, in Providence, R.I. A resident for four years, he was a retired human resources administrator for state government and a member of the Toastmasters International.
He is survived by three daughters, Anne Lucero of Henderson, Joan Torrisi of Cypress, Calif., and Jean King of Allen, Texas; one sister, Mary May of Cranston, R.I.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Beverly of Boca Raton, Fla.; one daughter, Shelley, of Israel; two sons, Howard of Frederick, Md., and Roy of New York City; one brother, Jack of Del Mar, Calif.; and one grandson, Omer of Israel.

Florence D. Murray, 89, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born June 24, 1910, in La Salle, Ill. A resident for 42 years, she was a retired clerk for the civil service and a member of the American Business Women's Association.
She is survived by one son, Ralph Sylvester of Las Vegas, four sisters, Grace Trentadue, Lucille Honeywell, Ann La Casella, all of Las Vegas, and Betty Buck of Westminster, Calif.; four brothers, Michael Lupella of Florida, Pat Lupello of Boulder City, Frank Lupella of Chicago and Anthony Lupella of Las Vegas; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; one son, John E. O'Dell of Henderson; one sister, Violet Hansen of Poca, W. Va.; one brother, Kester O'Dell of Little Rock, Ark.; and one grandchild.

She is survived by one daughter, Ida Peritz, and two sons, Aaron Peritz and Samuel Peritz, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Katie Golub of Florida and Marcia Vario of New York; and five grandchildren.
