Clark County Parks and Recreation's 10th annual Strut Your Mutt day, featuring canine contests, demonstrations and information booths, will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Dog Fancier's Park, 5800 E. Flamingo Road, (near Horseman's Park).
Admission is $3 per participant/dog and $1 or a bag or can of pet food per spectator. For more information, call 455-8206.
Henderson recreation schedules workshop
The Henderson Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor a home-schooling workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Road.
The workshop, led by a licensed teacher and home-schooling consultant, will discuss the legal options, ideals, costs and materials for homeschooling. Admission is $15. Call 565-2880.
Two workshops set in Henderson
The Henderson Parks and Recreation Department will host a stained-glass making workshop from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Lorna J. Kesterson Recreation Center, 500 Harris St.
A second workshop will be 9:30 a.m. to noon Nov. 20 at the Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Parkway.
Admission to each workshop is $20 and includes the use of glass cutters and sanding tools. To register for Saturday's workshop, call 565-2121. To register for the Nov. 20 workshop, call 435-3814.
Canine event to be held at Lamb Park
Greyhound Pets of America will host a gathering of retired racing greyhounds and sight-hound breeds from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Floyd Lamb Sate Park.
The event will feature dancing greyhound performances, raffles, a silent auction, a canine costume contest, an obedience lecture and more. Admission to the all-you-can-eat picnic is $10 in advance; $12 at the park. Greyhound adoption information will be available. Call 392-5822.
Women's club will host silent auction
The Summerlin Women's Club will hold a silent auction, fashion show and fund-raiser from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the Grand Ballroom of the Resort at Summerlin.
Bidding begins at 11 a.m. Proceeds will benefit the Shade Tree shelter for women and children. Tickets are $50. Call 233-1882.
Marketing seminar
The Las Vegas Chapter of the American Marketing Association and the Customer Loyalty Research Center is offering a customer loyalty seminar from 1:30-4:15 p.m. Thursday at Lawry's Prime Rib, 4043 Howard Hughes Parkway. Call 593-0883.
Puppet shows
The Henderson Parks and Recreation Department presents "Simple Gifts," a performance featuring skits and marionette puppet shows by Cashore Marionettes, at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Lorna J. Kesterson Recreation Center.
