Jazz Troupe - Dueled lead and weakened late for 3rd in last, set pace and 3rd three races back, drops another level now, Toscano gets another chance on young Hofmans trainee, Troupe diploma theft on agenda. Richwood - Weakened first time for a tag in comeback effort in last, split field in debut late-March '98, drops again in class, Naktani stays on twice- beaten favorite, had race, may have found graduation level. A. P. Assay - Speedy A. P. Indy mare returns to races with solid worktab that includes bullet 6-panel drill on the 12th, finished well in Breeders' Cup Sprint at Churchill Downs in last, has won off the bench, well placed for comeback score. Corona Lake - Overmatched in Grade I Vanity 'Cap when last raced in June '98, won three previous outings, 6-for-10 lifetime and 2-for-3 at Hollypark, swift solid works for return to races, McCarron takes over, proven winner off-the-shelf. 4TH RACE:

Sir Nibbles - Distant 3rd at Golden Gate in last, won at twice this price while claimed three races back, 3 of 5 lifetime victories at this distance, returns to southland and drops to half of last level for this, hustling Pedroza takes over. Monterey Jack - Pressed early when 3-wide and weakened in comeback effort in last, won at this level after debut maiden breaker in April '98, drops to competitive level now, had tightener, Antley stays, beware. 5TH RACE:

Coronet - Off slow from rail post at this trip in last, runner up down the hill at Anita before that, steady solid works since raced, draws better post here, Black back for trainer Shulman, prompt start puts this one right there. Beat the Devil - Set pace and gamely held close 2nd in comeback effort at this trip in last, in the quinella 4 of 10 lifetime starts with a pair of wins, pair of maintenance works since raced, Ant-Man returns, beware of the Devil. 6TH RACE:

Saint Wynn - In tight, steadied and rallied for debut 3rd from rail post in last, bullet breeze since raced, draws better post and race experience now, Flores stays on Cerin trainee, heavenly graduation? 7TH RACE:

Old Trieste - Talented son of A. P. Indy returns to races with sizzling worktab spotted with bullet drills, won half of 10 career starts, 2-for-2 at Hollypark and 1-for-1 at this distance, won Grade II Swaps stakes by 12-lengths in last Hollypark appearance in July, proven winner off-the-shelf. Puerto Madero - Mandella-trained handicap star returns to races off solid worktab, in the quinella 14 of 17 lifetime starts with 11 victories, won Grade III Native Diver 'Cap followed by Grade II Donn 'Cap victory before 5th in Grade I Santa Anita 'Cap in last, another proven winner off layoff. 9TH RACE:

Hailtheliquidator - Closing runner-up at these conditions sprinting in last, in the quinella 3 of 4 Hollypark starts with a maiden victory, stretches back out for third start since freshener, must overcome outside post. Heightenedawarenes - Pressed pace from between foes and weakened in comeback sprinting in last, broke maiden at Del Mar last July then overmatched in pair of stakes after that, Solis got to know Spawr trainee in last, good spot for action.
