Douglas County School District faces OSHA fine

Friday, May 28, 1999 | 5:23 a.m.

The district faces up to an $1,800 fine as the result of a recent inspection by the state Occupational Safety and Health Enforcement.

Sandy King, district personnel director, said the district currnetly assesses exposure to disease whenever an employee's job function changes.

She said the state wants them to revise their plan and make annual checks at the start of each school year as well.

King says the violations were inadvertent. She said the state has offered a 40 percent reduction on good faith compliance. The district is not contesting the fine but is trying to get it reduced even further.
