What’s different at National

Thursday, May 27, 1999 | 10:56 a.m.

Some of the things about Las Vegas-based National Airlines that are different from most carriers:

Free Las Vegas stopovers. Since every flight either arrives or departs from Las Vegas, the airline offers free stopovers for people who want to include a Las Vegas vacation in their travels.

Meals. National is touting its first-class meal service, served on china.More room. National's Boeing 757s are configured for 175 passengers. Most airlines using that plane have between 185 and 200 seats. That means more room per passenger. There's also expanded bin space for carry-on luggage.

Crews. Most Boeing 757s have four flight attendants. National will fly with five to better assist passengers.

Hotel presence. Guests at the Rio or Harrah's who fly National can check their bags all the way through to the resort. There are ticket counters at those hotels at which guests can check their bags and obtain seat assignments.
