Clarice M. Bessent, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 23, 1920, in Basalt, Colo. A resident for 57 years, she was a retired government investigator, a member of the Southern Nevada Women's Golf Association, a UNLV alumni member, a pilot and World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
She is survived by one son, Arvid Lucky Bessent of Las Vegas; one stepson, Claude Lucky Bessent of Albuquerque, N.M.; and five grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
Pablo Enrique Gasset
Pablo Enrique Gasset, 72, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born May 26, 1926, in Cuba. A resident for 31 years, he was a retired baccarat dealer at Caesars Palace and professional baseball player for the Cienfuego National Team of Cuba.
He is is survived by his wife, Gladys; three daughters, Marlene Snyder of Los Angeles and Rosa Morales and Gladys McGarry, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Ricardo Gasset and Carlos Vazquez, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Julieta Gasset of Miami; and seven grandchildren.
Services are scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Adelaide Ingram
Adelaide Ingram, 77, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. She was born March 5, 1922, in North Dakota. A resident for six years, she was a retired electronics lab assistant.
She is survived by her husband, George; one daughter, Patricia Gutierrez of Sunnyvale, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. is handling arrangements. The family requests donations to the Alzheimers Foundation.
Edward J. King
Edward J. King, 69, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. He was born Nov. 17, 1929, in Cleveland. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired hotel bartender an an Army veteran.
He is survived by three sons, Richard King, Ray E. King and Ronald King, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services were scheduled for 3 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
Genevieve M. Navarre
Genevieve M. Navarre, 78, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 5, 1920, in Wathena, Kan. A resident for three years, she was a retired accountant for a printing company.
She is survived by her husband, Edward; one son, Ralph Goldsberry of La Palma, Calif.; one sister, Grace Michaels of Raytown, Kan.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday in American Cremation and Burial Services, 310 Foremaster Lane.
Juan G. Sanchez
Juan G. Sanchez, 51, of North Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born July 20, 1947, in Albuquerque, N.M. A resident for 22 years, he was a boxing coach for a private business.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy; three sons, Juan Sanchez Jr., Fernando Sanchez and Augustine Sanchez, two daughters, Vanessa Maldonado and Vienza Sanchez, all of Las Vegas; his parents, Lupe and Oligia Sanchez, one brother, Harry Sanchez, one sister, Diana Gutierrez, all of Albuquerque; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.
Ruby P. Stone
Ruby P. Stone, 78, of Las Vegas died May 11 in a local care center. She was born Aug. 26, 1920, in Clara, Texas. A resident for 35 years, she was a retired accounts receivable clerk for an electrical company and a member of the Eastern Star Southgate No. 18.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharon McGinnis of Las Vegas; one son, Doyle Stone of Albuquerque, N.M.; one brother, George Kneedler of Rowlett, Texas; one sister, Wilma Oliver of Amarillo, Texas; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. The family requests donation to the Alzheimers Foundation.
Agness H. Strawn
Agness H. Strawn, 90, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born June 11, 1908, in Shelly, Idaho. A resident for several years, she was an AT&T telephone operator.
She is survived by two daughters, Norma Hayward of Las Vegas and Daryl King of Bountiful, Utah; two sons, Dennis Bowman and Joel Ellis Bowman, both of Idaho Falls, Idaho; three stepchildren; two sisters, Cleo Harman of Salem, Utah, and Sylvia Nelson of Aberdeen, Wash.; 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and seven great great-grandchildren.
Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North handled arrangements.
Georgia S. Veliz
Georgia S. Veliz, 65, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 25, 1933, in Patrick, Ark. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired floor supervisor in the gaming industry.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Sr.; two daughters, Susan Moberg and Linda Antill, both of Las Vegas; one son, Robert Veliz Jr. of Sunset, Utah; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service was scheduled today at 10 a.m. at the LDS Smoke Ranch Ward. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., handled arrangements.
