Hanauer wins hydroplane event at Lake Havasu

Hydroplane racing legend Chip Hanauer made his return to the sport a successful one, driving Miss PICO to a victory over Dave Villwock in Miss Budweiser in the inaugural Mohave Unlimited Hydrofest at Lake Havasu City, Ariz. The Las Vegas-based U-10 entry, driven by veteran Mark Weber, finished sixth in the championship final. Hanauer's average speed in the 10-mile final was 134.714 mph.
