Patrick J. Ahern, 46, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 10, 1953, Dublin, Ireland. A resident for 23 years, he was an operating engineer and a member of Operating Engineers Local 12.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia; three daughters, Karen Ahern, Lisa Ahern and Lauren Ahern, and his mother, Anna Ahern, all of Las Vegas; six sisters, Mary Ellen Pisula, Eileen Borst, Maudie Pfeuffer, Margaret Szymczak, Nora Ahern and Maureen Studer, and four brothers, Daniel Ahern, James Ahern, John Ahern and Michael Ahern, all of Chicago.
Visitation is scheduled noon-3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave.
Richard Anthony
Richard Anthony, 66, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born Feb. 7, 1933, in California. A resident for seven years, he was a casino purchasing agent and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Janice; one son, Craig Ryan Anthony of Las Vegas; one brother, William Ortiz of California; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services were scheduled 1:30 p.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, handled arrangements.
Laura E. Beal
Laura E. Beal, 88, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born April 16, 1911, in Amesbury, Mass. A resident for 18 years, she was a retired jewelry inspector.
She is survived by one daughter, Ann Robson of North Las Vegas; one son, Clifford Beal Jr. of East Providence, R.I.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
Frank Cammarata
Frank Cammarata, 70, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in North Las Vegas. He was born June 22, 1928 in Detroit. A resident for eight years, he was a retired truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; two daughters, Carmella Hernandez of Kailua, Hawaii, and Cindy Cammarata of North Las Vegas; one brother, Michael Cammarata of Michigan; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the March of Dimes, Chapter of the Pacific.
Frank Alfonse Carbone
Frank Alfonse Carbone, 89, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born Oct. 2, 1909, in New York. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired restaurateur and a member of Las Vegas Boxing Association.
He is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Marks of Houston; one sister, Anna Mancini, and one brother, Arnold Carbone, both of Providence, R.I.
Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Anna Frances Cowan
Anna Frances Cowan, 65, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born Jan. 23, 1924, in Illinois. A resident for 11 years, she was a waitress.
She is survived by one daughter, Jean Alexandre; two brothers, Tulio and Clarence; one sister, Lena; and one grandchild.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Grace Crump
Grace Crump, 71, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born June 25, 1927, in Orange, Texas. A resident for 40 years, she was a hotel inspectress.
She is survived by three daughters, Vivienne Watkins, Kimberly Crump and Lisa Morris, and four sons, Kevin Crump, Kyle Crump, Mark Crump and Scott Crump, all of Las Vegas; one brother, George Cromell of Mariposa, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. A private burial will follow.
Tuulafoaina Esau
Tuulafoaina Esau, 36, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born June 27, 1963, in Pavaiai, American Samoa. A resident for two years, she was a stocker at Walmart.
She is survived by two daughters, Jerrolyn S. Esau and Jerrica F. Esau, one son, Jerrard A. Esau, and her mother, Faaleulea Esau, all of Las Vegas; five brothers, Iakoto Vaialega, Omaha Vaialega, Mickey Vaialega and Fitutagi Vaialega, all of Las Vegas, and Tofu Esau of Minnesota; and three sisters, Elenoa Mataiutin of Pavaiai and Perenibe E. Dorsey and Puaula E. Bahn, both of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. services Saturday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Burial will be private.
John B. Hirsch
John B. Hirsch, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born March 7, 1916, in Panama. A resident for 62 years, he was a retired dentist and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; three daughters, Diane Keating and Kathy Veatch, both of Las Vegas, and Patty Schumacher of Green Bay, Wis.; one sister, Clare Howser of Las Vegas; one brother, Richard Hirsch of Sudbury, Mass.; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 4 p.m. until a 7 p.m. service today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be noon Saturday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Graveside services will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Donations are requested for the Bishop Gorman High School Library.
Sun Kum Hong
Sun Kum Hong, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 13, 1915, in Chong Ju, Korea. A resident for 26 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by four daughters, Yun Hee Hong and Chong S. Filbeck, both of South Korea, and Yong Belt and Chong Hee Fisher, both of Las Vegas; one son, Won Yi of Columbus, Ga.; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 2 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
William H. Johnson
William H. Johnson, 88, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 17, 1910, in Henderson, Iowa. A resident for 52 years, he was a dealer, a World War II Battle of the Bulge Army veteran, a recipient of the Bronze Star and a longtime member of the YMCA.
Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Vivian 'Shirley' McClay
Vivian "Shirley" McClay, 45, of Carson City died Sunday in Carson City. She was born June 7, 1953, in Detroit. A former Las Vegas resident from 1963 to 1980, she was a research librarian for the Nevada Legislature.
She is survived by her father, Calvin McClay of Las Vegas; one sister, Brunette Buchanan of Seattle; four brothers, Calvin McClay Jr. and Ralph McClay, both of Las Vegas, and Rahim Olajwon and Earl McClay, both of Seattle; and her grandparents, Jimmy and Josie Carey of Detroit.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul's Church of God in Christ, 911 N. G St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
The family suggests donations to Goodwill Church of God in Christ, 976 Hassell Ave., North Las Vegas, NV 89030.
Joseph Nanassy
Joseph Nanassy, 76, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 13, 1923, in Hungary. A resident for 41 years, he was an aircraft machinist.
He is survived by his wife, Mercedes E.; one son, Gilbert Viray; and three daughters, Analyn Viray, Cresalie Viray and Rosalie Viray.

Orvis Essil 'Rusty' Pickard
Orvis Essil 'Rusty' Pickard, 90, of Longmont, Colo., died Tuesday in Longmont. He was born Oct. 23, 1908, in Salem, Iowa. A former Las Vegas resident, he was a self-employed mobile home repairman until 1983 in Las Vegas, a supervisor for United Engineers and Construction Inc. in Philadelphia, a Hughes Aircraft missile division employee in Tucson, Ariz., a supervisor for Douglas Aircraft missile division in Santa Monica, Calif., a retired Navy chief warrant officer and World War II veteran.
He is survived by one brother, Harold Pickard of Bremerton, Wash.; two sisters, Ruth Boyer of Donnellson, Iowa, and Velma Kimbrell of Las Vegas; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
No local services are scheduled. Crist Mortuary, Boulder, Colo., is handling arrangements.
Robert Harold Reilly Jr.
Robert Harold Reilly Jr., 35, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born Oct. 24, 1963, in Pottsville, Pa. A resident for 15 years, he was disabled.
He is survived by his father, Robert H. Reilly Sr., his mother and stepfather, Gayle and Leland B. Christensen, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Debra L. Keller of Las Vegas and Robin Bagarose of Tonopah; and two brothers, Rickey Reilly of Las Vegas and William Reilly of Pottsville.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday in Desert Lane Care Center, 660 Desert Lane. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Thomas Tyson Royston III
Thomas Tyson Royston III, 65, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 26, 1933, in Ruffsdale, Pa. A resident for seven years, he was a computer salesman, an Air Force veteran and a member of various nationwide yacht clubs.
He is survived by three sons, Tom Royston of Burnsville, Minn., Jeff Royston of Savage, Minn., and Stuart Royston of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; his companion, Dianne Thomas of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Sophia H. Woodman
Sophia H. Woodman, 65, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born June 16, 1933, in Windsor, Ontario. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by three daughters, Donna Woodman of Las Vegas, Carol Woodman of Byron, Mich., and Sandra Gallaway of Howell, Mich.; one sister, Sherry Howard of Biddeford, Maine; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Monday Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.
