Assembly wants retirement study for judges

But they said they want a study of that issue before the next session.
"So we pay all of their PERS conributions unlike all other public employees in the state," said Assemblywoman Chris Giunchigliani, D-Las Vegas. "I think it's time we look at the whole issue of retirement for judges."
Other lawmakers agree the issue needs to be studied. In the meantime, they endorsed AB269 on behalf of the judges after being told the money for those contributions was already in the Supreme Court budget.
