Rebels’ Ludwick on All-WAC baseball team

UNLV outfielder Ryan Ludwick was named to the all-Western Athletic Conference first team on Monday.
The junior from Durango High hit .372 with team highs in hits (68), home runs (13), RBIs (68), slugging percentage (.642), walks (43) and on-base percentage (.476). He ranked second in stolen bases with 14.
A pair of Rebel seniors, relief pitcher Jimmy Smith and shortstop Eliott Sarabia, and junior first baseman Brian Hertel were named to the all-WAC second team.
The Rebels finished the regular season 27-32 overall and 9-15 in the WAC and are seeded fourth in the WAC tournament, which takes place Wednesday through Saturday in Fresno, Calif.
UNLV's first-round game in the double-elimination event is Wednesday at 7 p.m. against third-seeded San Jose State (28-24, 16-11). The winner of UNLV's game plays the winner of Texas Christian-Hawaii Thursday at 7 p.m., while the loser plays the winner of Rice-New Mexico Thursday at 3 p.m.
