Junior designated hitter Tony DeMarco hit for the cycle, powering UNLV to a 6-3 victory at Fresno State Sunday and into the Western Athletic Conference baseball tournament as the No. 4 seed.
The Rebels (27-32, 16-14 WAC) will meet No. 3 seed San Jose State in Fresno on Wednesday as the double-elimination WAC tourney gets under way.
Sunday's loss eliminated Fresno State (33-30, 14-16) from postseason competition.
UNLV, which would have qualified for the WAC event even had it lost Sunday, trailed 3-1 before erupting for four runs in the fifth inning. DeMarco's two-run homer was the big blow in the uprising.
DeMarco went 4-for-5 and knocked in three runs to pace the Rebels. Second baseman Matt Stoner had two hits, including a double, and drove in a pair of runs while shortstop Eliott Sarabia went 3-for-4 for UNLV.
Ryan Olson worked the first four innings before yielding to Luke Anderson, who notched the victory with five innings of shutout relief. Anderson yielded just three hits, striking out four while walking just one.
A rowdy crowd of 3,368 turned out to cheer on the Bulldogs but went home disappointed.
