Kimberly Jean
Grande GillingerKimberly Jean Grande Gillinger, 30, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born May 25, 1968, in Sharon, Pa. A resident for 25 years, she was a casino cage cashier.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; one daughter, Paris Marie Gillinger, and her mother, Beverly Kennedy, both of Las Vegas; her father, Benjamin J. Grande of West Middlesex, Pa.; three sisters, Betty Jo Alexander of West Middlesex, Sandra Grande of Las Vegas and Dale Mason of Henderson; and two brothers, her twin brother, Benjamin H. Grande, and Michael A. Grande, both of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 1-5 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Norma Harris
Norma Harris, 88, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. She was born March 20, 1911, in Savannah, Ga. A resident for 55 years, she was a retired registered nurse who worked at the old Las Vegas Hospital for 20 years and for Dr. John R. McDaniel, and was a member of the African Violet Society, the Tort Group and was active in bridge clubs.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will be private.
The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Sheila M. Jackson
Sheila M. Jackson, 56, of Mesquite died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 1, 1942, in Ellensburg, Wash. A former Las Vegas resident for nine years and most recently a Mesquite resident for three years, she was a small- business manager and worked for Arco-Terrible Herbst for nine years in Las Vegas.
She is survived by her husband, William Jr.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Wednesday in Virgin Valley Baptist Church, Mesquite. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Robert N. King
Robert N. King, 60, of Henderson died Thursday in a local health care center. He was born Jan. 30, 1939, in Middleton, Tenn. A resident for two years, he was a retired dry cleaner and presser and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Toni L.; three daughters, Kelly of Arcadia, Calif., Sharon of Henderson and Michelle of Los Angeles; five sons, Danny of Chicago, Robert of Detroit, Joseph of Grand Rapids, Mich., Thomas of Baldwin Park, Calif., and Anthony of Los Angeles; his mother, Christine King of Ripley, Tenn.; one sister, Mae Frances Hunter of Sacramento; three brothers, Jimmy King, Billy King and John Raymond King, all of Chicago; and 13 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.
Harvey Martin
Harvey Martin, 91, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. He was born April 18, 1908, in Cave City, Ky. A resident for eight years, he owned and operated a retail shoe store, was a member of the Masonic Lodge-Grand Lodge of Kentucky.
He is survived by one daughter, Betty Duffield, and two grandsons, James Duffield and Jeffrey Duffield, all of Las Vegas; two granddaughters, Janet Tuer of Payson, Ariz., and Julie Townsend of Azusa, Calif.; and four great-grandchildren, Andrew Weir of Irvine, Calif., Michael Duffield and Patrick Duffield, both of Las Vegas, and Justin Townsend of Azusa; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Ernest L. Ohlson
Ernest L. Ohlson, 89, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 12, 1909, in Preston, Idaho. A resident for 64 years, he was a retired operating engineer in the hotel industry.
He is survived by one son, Ernest L. Ohlson Jr. of Las Vegas; two daughters, Linda Ray Anderson of Lynden, Wash., and Dawna K. Jolliff of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
Chester Steinman
Chester Steinman, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born June 2, 1920, in Duluth, Minn. A resident for several years, he was an interior designer.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Beverly; two daughters, Cheryl French of Palm Springs, Calif., and Teri Tucker of Kansas City, Mo.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be private. Burial will be in Memory Gardens. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Shirley Ann Holman Sweeden
Shirley Ann Holman Sweeden, 61, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 16, 1937, in Shafter, Calif. A resident for six years, she was a hotel valet.
She is survived by one son, Stanley "Jim" Holman of Bakersfield, Calif.; two daughters, Cindy Ratekin of Porterville, Calif., and Tamra Witcher of Bakersfield; one sister, Judy Ryan of Murietta, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be noon Tuesday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Derry Jake Unruh Jr.
Derry Jake Unruh Jr., 42, of Las Vegas died April 19 in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 7, 1956, in California. A resident for 3 1/2 years, he was an auto parts assistant manager.
He is survived by his wife, Kim; one son, Daniel Unruh, and one daughter, Danyel Unruh, his father, Derry Unruh Sr., and one sister, Beverly Gardener, all of Las Vegas; and two brothers, Darrel Unruh of Las Vegas and Steve Unruh of California.
Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson.
Emma Barbara Woodard
Emma Barbara Woodard, 74, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Dec. 28, 1924, in Indiana. A resident for 11 years, she was a restaurant owner.
She is survived by her husband, William B.
Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
