Helen Caroline Ayers, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born June 26, 1921, in Livingston, S.C. A resident for seven years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Robert L. Ayers, and one daughter, Martha H. Ayers, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Sam Williams of Eaton, Ga., and Wallace Williams of Davenport, Fla.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sunrise Baptist Church, 1780 Betty Lane. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Joseph B. Ballard
Joseph B. Ballard, 66, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born Feb. 2, 1933, in Colusa, Calif. A resident for 28 years, he was a retired electrician, a Korean War and Vietnam War veteran and a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene; one son, Howard R. Ballard, one daughter, Ruth E. Parr, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Edna Pulsipher of Olivehurst, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Lorraine E. Candy
Lorraine E. Candy, 78, of Henderson died Monday. She was born Jan. 20, 1921, in St. Louis. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker and a member of Senior Friends.
She is survived by two sons, James Conklin of Henderson and Robert Conklin if Detroit; one sister, Valla Brooks of Sterling Heights, Mich.; one brother, Ed Stoops of St. Louis; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Missouri. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Brian Lee Finn
Brian Lee Finn, 35, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 17, 1963, in Weisbaden, Germany. A resident for 22 years, he was a truck driver for Nevada Recycling, a decorated Desert Storm Army veteran who served for 12 years.
He is survived by his companion, Barbara Falstad, and four daughters, Shauna Finn, Stephanie Finn, Jessica Falstad and Tayler Falstad, all of Las Vegas; one son, Richard Falstad of Bullhead City, Ariz.; his mother, Norma Pittman of Moses Lake, Wash.; three brothers, Robert Finn of Pittsburgh, Kevin Finn of Pahrump and Scott Finn of Las Vegas; two sisters, Wendy DeLattuerta of Las Vegas and Tami Campbell of Brooks, Maine.
A memorial service was scheduled at 1 p.m. today in Sunrise Baptist Church, 1780 Betty Lane. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.
Arthur Bruce Fitchett
Arthur Bruce Fitchett, 80, of Illinois died Friday in Illinois. He was born Sept. 26, 1918, in Ontario. A former Las Vegas resident for many years, he was a sheet metal worker for a heating and air conditioning company and a veteran.
He is survived by one son, Paul Fitchett of Illinois.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in St. George, Utah. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson handled arrangements.
Ryan Roger Hall
Ryan Roger Hall, 23, of Henderson died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 6, 1975, in Washington state. A resident for 10 years, he was an apartment complex maintenance worker and a Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by his parents, Jeffrey and June Roark of Las Vegas; and four brothers, Harlan Hall of Washington, Damon Hall and Jeffrey Roark, both of Las Vegas, and Aaron Vanatta of California.
Visitation is private. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Burial will be in Washington.
Marion Hartwig
Marion Hartwig, 71, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born Sept. 6, 1927, in Abbotsford, Wis. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired retail sales secretary.
She is survived by her husband, Oscar; two daughters, Karen Foster and Donna Roberts, both of Arvada, Colo.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.
Marie M. Lessick
Marie M. Lessick, 95, of Las Vegas died April 28 in a local care center. She was born Nov. 11, 1903, in Manitoba. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired bookbinder for a printing company.
She is survived by five daughters, Alice Mae Lessick and Dorothy M. Lessick, both of Las Vegas, June May of Phoenix, Eileen Lessick of Chicago and Ardeen Morrison of Pahrump; one son, Donald J. Lessick of Huntington Beach, Calif.; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
John H. Liu
John H. Liu, 64, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born April 26, 1935, in China. A resident for seven years, he was a retired chemist.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth L.; one son, Johnson M. Liu of Chevy Chase, Md.; two brothers, James Liu and Peter Liu, both of San Francisco; and one sister, Manlan Shu of Taiwan.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
Wilmer Lou Rollins
Wilmer Lou Rollins, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 17, 1922, in Altus, Okla. A resident for eight years, he was a retired beverage salesman.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; one daughter, Debbie Lee of Hamer, S.C.; one stepson, Billie Ray Rollins of Victorville, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Michael L. Roman
Michael L. Roman, 52, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 30, 1947, in New York. A resident for many years, he was a millwright.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Maria.

Richard James Romero
Richard James Romero, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born May 18, 1927, in Los Angeles. A resident for seven years, he was a mechanical engineer for a sheet metal and aircraft firm, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby G. "Judy"; seven sisters, Rita Alexandria of Palm Springs, Calif., Helen Johnson of Anaheim, Calif., Carmen Williams of Fallbrook, Calif., Teddy Benevedes of Orange, Calif., Judy Hewitt of Everett, Wash., Cecelia Harmer of Searchlight and Fran Barton of Plano, Texas; four brothers, Bert Romero of Palos Verdes Peninsula, Calif., Patrick Romero of Orange, Tony Romero of Plano and Manuel Romero of Airway Heights, Wash.
Visitation is scheduled 2-6 p.m. Thursday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Davis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
LaVerne B. Schutz
LaVerne B. Schutz, 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday. He was born Oct. 21, 1922, in Moore, Mont. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired owner-operator of a retail store, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and a member of the Masons.
He is survived by his wife, Sheba; two daughters, Candy Schutz and Penny Morrison, both of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. until a 4 p.m. services Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Hannah C. St. Germaine
Hannah C. St. Germaine, 69, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born May 17, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 13 years, she was an assembly line worker for an electronics firm.
She is survived by one daughter, Evelyn Bogema of Lake Ozark, Mo.; two sisters, Katherine Puckett of Hemet, Calif., and Helen Beam of Las Vegas; one brother, David O'Mara Jr. of Hemet; and two grandchildren.

Patrick Joseph Topolinski
Patrick Joseph Topolinski, 36, of Indian Springs died Sunday in Indian Springs. He was born Feb. 8, 1963, in Illinois. A resident for 12 years, he was a correctional officer in the prison system and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by his father, Henry Topolinski, and his mother, Lora Matheny, both of Pensacola, Fla.
Burial will be in Pensacola. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Sandra Weakland
Sandra Weakland, 60, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born Oct. 28, 1938, in Michigan. A resident for 36 years, she was a cashier in the automotive industry.
She is survived by four sons, Gordon Weakland, Mark Weakland, Michael Weakland and David Weakland, all of Henderson; her mother, Barbara Hammond, and two sisters, Judy Wharff and Barbara Padilla, all of New Mexico; two brothers, William Hammond of Michigan and Lewis Hammond Jr. of New Mexico; and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 10-11 a.m. Friday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Hendersn. Burial will be in Henderson.
