Gloria Jean Boyer, 63, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 2, 1935, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 16 years, she was an activities director at a convalescent home.

She is survived by one daughter, Terrie Ann; two sons, Frank Ernest Sutton and Joseph Daniel Sutton, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Glen Shurtz of Bakersfield, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Elsie J. Brown

Elsie J. Brown, 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 13, 1911, in Tennessee. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Paul D. Brown and Roderick D. Brown, and one daughter, Madeline J. Roysden, all of Las Vegas; four sisters, Hazel Johnson, Vesta Mullins, Wanda Hull and Lizzetta Brown, and two brothers, Lonnie Hull and Obed Hull, all of Jamestown, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Marian Amelia Councilman

Marian Amelia Councilman, 92, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Feb. 3, 1907, in Iowa. A resident for 2 1/2 years, she was a state hospital food server.

She is survived by four sons, Glen and Jerry, both of Eureka, Calif., John of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Richard of Las Vegas; one daughter, Carol Huddleston of Las Vegas; 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Tyler James Crokie

Tyler James Crokie, 1 month, of Boulder City died Friday in Boulder City. He was born March 24, 1999, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his mother, Bobbie Goins, his father, James P. Crokie, and one sister, Geniece Crokie, all of Boulder City; and his grandparents, Val and Jerry Crokie of Boulder City and Robert Goins of Henderson.

Mark Michael Cuttaia

Mark Michael Cuttaia, 42, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 20, 1956, in Cleveland. A resident for 13 years, he was a hotel bartender.

He is survived by his wife, Philippa Pointon-Cuttaia, his mother, Dorothy Cuttaia, and three sons, Jack Cuttaia, Nicholas Cuttaia and David Cuttaia, all of Las Vegas.

Brian Lee Finn

Brian Lee Finn, 35, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 17, 1963, in Welsbaden, Germany. A resident for 22 years, he was a truck driver for Nevada Recycling, a decorated Army veteran of Desert Storm, who served for 12 years.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; four daughters, Shauna Finn, Stephanie Finn, Jessica Falstad and Tayler Falstad, all of Las Vegas; one son, Richard Falstad of Bullhead City, Ariz.; his mother, Norma Pittman of Moses Lake, Wash.; three brothers, Robert Finn of Pittsburgh, Kevin Finn of Pahrump and Scott Finn of Las Vegas; two sisters, Wendy DeLattuerta of Las Vegas and Tami Campbell of Brooks, Maine.

A memorial service is scheduled 1 p.m. Wednesday in Sunrise Southern Baptist Church, 1780 Betty Lane. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.

Francisco Leon Gutierrez

Francisco Leon Gutierrez, 39, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 15, 1960, in Mexico. A resident for many years, he was a bartender at a restaurant.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa; two daughters, Teresa Gutierrez and Adreana Gutierrez, both of Las Vegas; his parents, Ricardo and Marilena Gutierrez of Mexico; six brothers, Manuel Gutierrez and Martin Gutierrez, both of Chicago, and Auturo Gutierrez, Jose Gutierrez, Gustavo Gutierrez and Ricardo Gutierrez, all of Mexico; six sisters, Lordes Gutierrez, Marielena Gutierrez, Veronica Gutierrez, Adriana Gutierrez, Camela Gutierrez and Berdilna Gutierrez, all of Mexico.

Afton F. Hadfield, 78, of Boulder City died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Jan. 6, 1921, in Smithfield, Utah. A resident for 21 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Pamela Ann Grier of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; two sons, Ted Hadfield of Colesville, Md., and Brent J. Hadfield of Coeur d'Alene; four sisters, Dorothy Belangee of Boulder City, Beverly Young of Salt Lake City and Dixie Reese and Cheryl Liechty, both of Logan, Utah; two brothers, Blaine Fisher and Ferrin Fisher, both of Pocatello, Idaho; and four grandchildren.

Lottie M. Harrison, 91, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born May 30, 1907, in Garland, Wyo. A resident for 28 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Nayda Birrell of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Emery Heintzelman

Emery Heintzelman, 78, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 10, 1921, in Illinois. A resident for seven months, he was a railroad brakeman and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by one son, Frank Heintzelman of Henderson; three daughters, Evelyn Christensen of Henderson, Sharon Pennick of Illinois and Marjorie Legg of Great Falls, Mont.; 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Orville Christopher Jenkins

Orville Christopher Jenkins, 82, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. He was born May 22, 1916, in Illinois. A resident for seven years, he was a mimeograph buyer and an Air Force veteran.

He was preceded in death by one son, David.

He is survived by his wife, Lee; one daughter, Leanna Jenkins; one brother, Charlie Jenkins; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Ruth M. Johnson

Ruth M. Johnson, 85, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 16, 1914, in New York. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald G.; and one son, Albert R. Johnson of Las Vegas.

Violeta S. Josafat, 62, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born Sept. 23, 1936, in the Philippines. A resident for 17 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Escosia, Josiely Alford and Ellen Kolling, and three sons, Rene Josafat, Johnson Josafat and Andy Josafat, all of Las Vegas; and several sisters and brothers, all of the Philippines; 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mary Jo Anna Kneeland, 73, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born May 25, 1925, in Reunion Island. A resident for 19 years, she was a ballet dance teacher.

Jesus Quimo Pame, 86, of Las Vegas died April 26 in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 25, 1913, in the Philippines. A resident for three years, he was a cook, a Navy veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by two sons, Jesse and Kevin; one daughter, Frances Colmenero; and 10 grandchildren.

Neoma H. Ray, 72, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born Jan. 27, 1927, in Texas. A resident for 36 years, she was a waitress, a member of Charleston Heights Sewing Club and Red Rock Baptist Bible Study.

She is survived by three sons, Daniel Higgins, Michael Higgins and Patrick Higgins, all of Las Vegas; two daughters, Mona Virgilio of Palm Springs, Calif., and Bonnie Higgins of Las Vegas; her stepmother, Ruby MacKenzie of San Antonio; one sister, Lucille Durbin of San Antonio; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Frances Schenker, 92, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 12, 1906, in New York. A resident for six years, she owned and operated a printing and mailing company and was the fund-raising chairwoman for Deborah Hospital in Browns Mills, N.J.

She is survived by two sons, Nathan Schenker and Bill Schenker, both of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Ethel Winternheimer Staton

Ethel Winternheimer Staton, 79, of Henderson died April 27 in Henderson. She was born April 18, 1920, in North Dakota. A resident for 50 years, she was a schoolteacher, member and past president of the Museum Guild, Clark County Heritage Museum Guild and sang in the trio for the First Baptist Church in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her husband, John; two sons, Wayne Allen Winternehimer and Darryl Ben Winternheimer; three brothers, Robert, Paul and Martin; one sister, Ruth Griffith; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Leola VanHorn, 94, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Nov. 1, 1904, in Marion, Iowa. A resident for 18 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Carol Decker of Las Vega; two sons, Jack VanHorn of Long Beach, Calif., and Jim VanHorn of Colorado Springs, Colo.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
