Nevada Attorney General’s Office files complaint against Texas company

The complaint filed in Washoe District Court accuses Dallas-based Excel Telecommunications of switching consumers' long distance carriers without authorization.
The attorney general's office says it has received numerous complaints against Excel for alleged phone slamming.
The complaint seeks an injunction prohibiting Excel from engaging in such practices. Nevada law also allows for civil penalties of up to $2,500 for each violation.
