Ex-governor nominated to airline board

America West Holdings Corp. of Phoenix, owner of America West Airlines, said it nominated former Nevada Gov. Bob Miller to its board of directors.
America West is the second-busiest carrier at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.
Miller is a senior partner at the Las Vegas law firm of Jones Vargas. He's a director of Newmont Mining Corp., Paging Network Inc. and Zenith National Insurance Corp.
Also nominated to the America West board was Jeffrey A. Shaw, managing director of the investment firm Texas Pacific Group.
Shareholders will vote on the nominees at America West's annual meeting May 20 in New York.
