Reconstruction project targets Boulder City streets

Monday, May 3, 1999 | 9:54 a.m.

The drive around some streets in Boulder City may soon be a little smoother.

The Boulder City Council unanimously approved a bid for this year's pavement reconstruction project. A dollar amount was not available because the council insisted on adding streets that were ready for micropaving, or patching, to the reconstruction list.

Phillip Henry, public works director, said at least four streets -- Yucca Street, Aspen Court, Aspen Drive and Cedar Court -- are among those to be added to the reconstruction project.

While Mayor Bob Ferraro said he thought a number of residents would be pleased by the decision, Councilman Bryan Nix said the move will only put a dent in much-needed road repairs throughout the city.

"This is such a small amount of what needs to be addressed," he said. "I think it is time to re-evaluate (road repairs) on a broad scale."
