Revenue up, loss widens for magazine

The company blamed the loss on costs associated with its merger with Gaming Venture Corp. U.S.A. and costs for launching its new Strictly Slots magazine.
Casino Journal Publishing said revenues rose 26 percent to $9.1 million thanks to higher advertising and subscription revenue, along with the launch of two new magazines and two new trade shows.
These events offset the negative effects of the company's highest grossing trade show, the American Gaming, Lodging and Leisure Summit, not being included in fiscal 1998 results as the show took place in January 1999.
