Letter: Producers pay tax for unproductive
Wednesday, March 31, 1999 | 11:56 a.m.
They don't depend on government, politicians or any political party for their success. Some went to college, some built businesses, some became craftsmen, etc.
You know what they all are? The producers! The productive! Also, they are the taxpayers who pay the federal taxes.
The Democrats would like you to believe they are the reason for your success, or that their programs are responsible. It's not true.
The producers know they make their own success. Most of the money we send to Washington, D.C., gets wasted and only a small fraction gets returned in benefits.
How much better off would you, and the country, be if you received a full paycheck and didn't have to pay any federal taxes? That's the way it was before Democratic politicians began transferring money from the productive to the unproductive.
They actually are buying the votes of the unproductive with the producers money. If the politicians are allowed to take more of the producers income for more programs or to expand government, they will destroy this country.
Remember this the next time they or their unproductive defenders sing their praises.
