Visitation, gaming win rise

The LVCVA said the increase was aided by a 3 percent increase in convention attendance to 7,285 people.

Room occupancy rates increased 2.8 percentage points to 85.2 percent.

Casinos in Laughlin, a gambling town south of Las Vegas, reported $48.3 million in gaming win in January -- up 4 percent from January 1998.
