Letter: Give us a choice on fluoride in water
Monday, March 29, 1999 | 12:42 p.m.
Certainly our drinking water is one of the most precious commodities we have -- our life depends on it. Is it right for a foreign substance -- in this case, fluoride -- to be introduced into our water through legislation without our approval?
There are many of us who don't think so. If this bill is passed, the Legislature is denying us our freedom of choice.
If one wants fluoride in their drinking water, let them find a way to instill it in their own personal supply. There are ways to do this. It's available in toothpaste, mouthwash and other forms.
If there is one person who doesn't want fluoride instilled in their drinking water, this bill should be defeated. Also, there are those who are on special medical programs that include recommendations regarding types of drinking water.
Leave our drinking water alone!
