County manager and BLM district manager wed

BLM Carson District Manager John Singlaub and Washoe County Manager Katy Simon are planning an Aug. 15 wedding at Lake Tahoe.

The two met at a citizens advisory board meeting in Washoe Valley north of Carson City in October.

Simon, 45, has an 11-year-old daughter, and Singlaub, 48, has two grown children.

They both enjoy the outdoors, music and traveling, said Simon, a former punk-rock singer in a band.

"He's very easy going and steady, which I am not," Simon said. "I'm not as calm as he is. He has a very calming effect on me, which staff appreciates."
