Gerard Joseph Bernier, 79, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 24, 1919, in Taunton, Mass. A resident for 42 years, he was a retired state government tax agent and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Valerie; one daughter, Donna Lambert of Las Vegas; one son, Berry Bernier of Centralia, Wash.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Steven Covell

Steven Covell, 33, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 12, 1965, in Westwood, N.J. A resident for five years, he was a hotel waiter and a member of the Culinary Union.

He is survived by his mother, Angela Covell of Brigantine, N.J.; one brother, Craig Covell of Las Vegas; and one sister, Lauren Hagerson of Brant Beach, N.J.

No local services are scheduled. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Billie Kathy Crockrom

Billie Kathy Crockrom, 39, of North Las Vegas died Monday in North Las Vegas. She was born April 2, 1959, in Fordyce, Ark. A local resident for 29 years, she was a housekeeper.

She is survived by two daughters, LaTreace and Minyon; one son, Antwaun; one godchild; six sisters, Wilma, Patricia, Carolyn, Stephanie, Edna and Arlene; and two brothers, Curtis and James.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the First African Methodist Episcopal Church, 2450 Revere St., North Las Vegas. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Maranda Jade Dillard

Maranda Jade Dillard, 8 months, of Boulder City died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born July 16, 1998, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her parents, Kelly and Tracy Dillard, and one sister, Marina Rene Dillard, all of Boulder City; her grandparents, Jacquelyn and Anthony Dillard of Henderson and DeeAnn and Richard McMahon of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and her great-grandparents, Connie Cook of Boulder City and Angela and Jack Hallahan of Henderson.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday in Grace Community Church, 1150 Wyoming St., Boulder City. Burial will follow in Boulder City Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Christine Ericksen

Christine Ericksen, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born July 24, 1914, in New York. A resident for 48 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, John D. Malone; two sisters, Rosealie of New York and Marjorie of North Las Vegas.

Frank Alvin Hawbaker

Frank Alvin Hawbaker, 71, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 6, 1927, in Pennsylvania. A resident for six years, he was a lighting fixtures warehouse clerk.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; and three sisters, Elinore Beck of Pennsylvania, Carol Bewley of Texas and Margaret Boozer of South Carolina.

Clyde E. Heckart

Clyde E. Heckart, 65, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 27, 1934, in Columbus, Ohio. A resident for five years, he was a retired automotive inspector and a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa K.; two daughters, Kimberley E. Costa of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., and Heidi M. Ruiz of San Pedro, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Linda Ann Howerton-Kelley

Linda Ann Howerton-Kelley, 51, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born March 28, 1947, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 34 years, she was a cosmetician for more than 30 years, most recently at Maximus Hair Salon.

She is survived by her husband, Michael W. Kelley; one son, Sean E. Howerton of Las Vegas; her mother, Beatrice Brown, and one sister, Susan E. Mainwaring, both of Medford, Ore.; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Susan H. Johnson

Susan H. Johnson, 85, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born June 7, 1913, in Texas. A resident for 23 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Norma King, and one sister, Coriane Fausto, both of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Bon Lessing

Bon Lessing, 86, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born April 5, 1912, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired insurance company manager.

He is survived by his wife, Jean L.; one son, Alan Michael Lessing of Penn Valley, Calif.; one daughter, Jill Ellen Lessing of Emeryville, Calif.; one sister, Celia Weber of Studio City, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

Thomas Robert Lowy Jr.

Thomas Robert Lowy Jr., 29, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 29, 1969, in Las Vegas. A resident for 29 years, he was an independent contractor.

He is survived by his wife, Shannon; one daughter, Shiva Rain Lowy, and his mother, Helena Lowy, both of Las Vegas; his father, Thomas Robert Lowy of Hawaii; and two brothers, Fred Lowy of Washington state and Mark Alley of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Craig McGalis

Craig McGalis, 61, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 3, 1937, in Long Beach, Calif. A resident for 20 years, he was a graphic design owner-operator and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Lynne; one daughter, Cindy Gibson, and one son, Michael McGalis, both of Tacoma, Wash.; one aunt, Virginia Gagnon of South Pasadena, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Nancy Mae Hupe Radmall

Nancy Mae Hupe Radmall, 64, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 29, 1934, in West Allis, Wis. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Arlyn Sr.; one daughter, Christine Radmall Matthews of Pleasant Grove, Utah; four sons, Mark Arlynn Radmall Jr. of Provo, Utah, Gray H. Radmall of Las Vegas, Dan W. Radmall of Salt Lake City and Lynn H. Radmall of Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters; one brother; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Saturday in the LDS Hillpoint Ward. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

Alfred M. Schweers

Alfred M. Schweers, 80, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born March 13, 1919, in New York. A resident for 13 years, he was a steel worker for a railroad parts manufacturer and a World War II Army veteran who served in the 209th Coast Artillery Regiment.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille; three sons, John Schweers of Columbus, Ohio, and James Schweers and Joseph Schweers, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Herman Schweers, and two sisters, Jane Kempski and Ruth Surowiec, both of Buffalo; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-8 p.m. Sunday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Monday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Kimberly Marie Schwindt

Kimberly Marie Schwindt, 5 months, died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 9, 1998, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her mother, Jennifer Simundson, her father, William Schwindt, three sisters, Angel Schwindt, Crystal Schwindt and Gabrielle Schwindt, and her grandfather, David Simundson, all of Las Vegas.

Herman 'Bill' Strouse

Herman 'Bill' Strouse, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. He was born Nov. 1, 1917, in Corpus Christi, Texas. A resident for five years, he was a CARE Disaster Relief manager, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Bernadette.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Clara Testa

Clara Testa, 74, of Marion, Ohio, died Tuesday in Marion. She was born Sept. 23, 1924, in Marion. A former Las Vegas resident, she was a World War II Navy veteran.

She is survived by one daughter, Bettie Jo Peters of Las Vegas; one brother, Daniel Fosnaugh of Marion; six sisters, Elizabeth Hargin of Caledonia, Ohio, Laura Chizek of Celina, Ohio, Victoria Lagos of Deltona, Fla., and Betty Carpenter, Mary M. Creviston and Rose Mathews, all of Marion.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Paradise Memorial Gardens. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Ashley Wallace, 12, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born June 9, 1986, in North Las Vegas.

She is survived by her father, Michael Wallace of Las Vegas; her mother, Maria Soto, two brothers, Joseph Soto and Matthew Way, three sisters, Rochel Wallace, Maggie Way and Vanessa Soto, and her grandparents, Guadalupe and Luther Soto, all of North Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St., Las Vegas.

Mary L. Windley, 77, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. A homemaker, she was born July 8, 1921, in Canada.

She is survived by three daughters, Kathleen Duquette of Las Vegas, Darlene Fitzgerald of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Cheryl Lewin of Chicago; four sisters, Terry Spencer and Penny Cook, both of Washington state, and Vivian Hooper and Lora Ponnak, both of Vancouver, British Columbia; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
