June hearing set in Binion chip dispute

The Nevada Gaming Control Board has set June 2 as the date a Board hearing examiner will hear arguments in the dispute between Bob Stupak and Binion's Horseshoe hotel-casino over $250,000 in $5,000 poker chips.
Binion's refused last year to cash Stupak's chips, saying it could not verify he had won them at the casino. A Board agent ordered the casino to pay Stupak, but Binion's appealed that order to a hearing examiner.
The hearing examiner's decision must be approved by the full Board. Any further appeals must be taken up in State District Court.
The Board has not set hearing dates for two other cases in which Binion's has refused to cash $5,000 chips. The casino has refused to cash $110,000 in chips held by Georgia high-stakes poker player Wayman R. Moore, or $865,000 in chips held by San Diego poker player and former World Series of Poker champion Hamid Dastmalchi.
