Bees swarm at elementary school
Thursday, March 25, 1999 | 11:14 a.m.
The bees were spotted between Edna Hinman Elementary School and a Boys and Girls Club about 3:45 p.m., department officials said.
School was out for the day, but as a precaution, children waiting for rides home were moved to the front of the school. No one was stung.
Exterminators were called, but before they arrived the bees flew off in a northerly direction. It is unknown whether or not the bees were Africanized honey bees, or "killer bees."
