Letter: Front Sight article told it like it is

As you noted, there is no political agenda or extremist blather in the curricula. On the contrary, emphasis is placed on safe handling first and foremost, followed by proper technique. In the classes I have attended, a significant number of the students are law enforcement officers there to sharpen their gun handling skills. The balance consists of a range of people there to learn the proper means and methods of safe gun handling.
I can also attest to the professionalism and dedication of the instructional staff. There is no "boot camp" mentality. The instructors are there to make sure that you attain the highest degree of instruction and training that you can absorb during your stay.
I feel that it is every gun owner's responsibility to learn how to safely handle and operate their firearm. It is also the responsibility of every concealed firearm permit holder to know when he or she may legally use a firearm in self-defense. These concepts are covered very well during training at a Front Sight class.
I hope that I will never have to use my gun in self-defense. But if I must, I feel that the training I have received, and will continue to receive, at Front Sight will make the difference.
