SUN STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS
Less than 24 hours after he was released, UNLV basketball broadcaster Glen Gondrezick was back in Summerlin Hospital complaining of chest pains and has been diagnosed to have a blood clot in his heart.
Gondrezick, 43, had suffered a heart attack last Tuesday and spent five days in the hospital recuperating from an angioplasty procedure to clear a blocked left artery. He was expected to recuperate at home, but after spending Saturday night at his house, he was having pain and discomfort.
He was readmitted to Summerlin Sunday night and will be operated on today in an attempt to take care of the clot.
"I went home long enough to do laundry," the team's color analyst joked from his hospital room Monday night. "At least they know what caused this. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that everything comes out all right."
Gondrezick, who played eight years in the NBA and is a member of UNLV's athletic hall of fame, wasn't sure how long his stay in the hospital will be this time.
"I have no idea," he said. "But I'm not going to rush it. I'm going to listen to the doctors and whatever they tell me to do, I'll do."
