Recycling plant fire threatens buildings
Sunday, March 21, 1999 | 9:18 a.m.
The three-alarm fire began about 2:30 p.m. at the plant, said Clark County Fire Department spokesman Steve La-Sky.
Firefighters were hampered by a lack of water in the area and the strong winds that caused the fire to spread.
La-Sky said several buildings in the area were threatened, but no houses or people were in danger.
"It's a mess. I really feel for the guys," he said.
La-Sky said he expected the fire to last several days.
