Mitchell E. Anthony, 22, of Las Vegas died Saturday. He was born May 19, 1976, in Ada, Okla. A resident for 14 years, he was a long distance telephone customer service representative, a 1996 graduate of Basic High School, a cadet sergeant major and armed drill team commander in the Junior ROTC program.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Jaynee L. and Norris Gaylor of Henderson; his father and stepmother, James "Mitch" and Nancy Anthony of Boulder City; three sisters, Kimberly L. Rhude of Henderson and Amber Smith and Jaymie J. Anthony, both of Las Vegas; one stepbrother, Shane B. Gaylor of Boulder City; and his grandparents, Mary Douthlett of Boulder City and Ed and Ellen Evans of Barstow, Calif.
Visitation is scheduled noon until 2:30 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.
Roy H. Brom
Roy H. Brom, 78, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. He was born April 1, 1920, in Dodge, Wis. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired optician, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and a member of the Las Vegas Order of Eagles.
He is survived by two sons, Robert Brom of Stillwater, Minn., and David P. Brom of Las Vegas; one sister, Monica Sabota of Arcadia, Wis.; two brothers, Sy Brom of Trempalo, Wis., and Connie Brom of Winona, Minn.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were scheduled 1 p.m. today in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
The family suggests donations to the Parkinson's Foundation.
Randy Elliott
Randy Elliott, 49, of Boulder City died Sunday in Boulder City. He was born Dec. 16, 1949, in Herlong, Calif. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired casino floorman, a Vietnam War Army veteran, a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by one daughter, Vanessa R. Pence of Myrtle Creek, Ore.; one son, Vincent W. Elliott of Portland, Ore.; his mother, Melba R. Johnson of Boulder City; one brother, Larry H. Elliott of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Olga Hagen
Olga Hagen, 83, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born April 23, 1915, in Paterson, N.J. A resident for 18 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one brother, Alan Markovich of Elmwood Park, N.J.
Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handing private services.
Frank H. Hawkins Jr.
Frank H. Hawkins Jr., 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 19, 1923, in Port Arthur, Texas. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired chief of office services for the Atomic Energy Commission, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and American Association of Retired Persons.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Hawkins of Las Vegas; one sister, Mary Jones of LaPorte, Texas; and two brothers, Harry Hawkins of Escondido, Calif., and Billy Hawkins of Oakdale, La.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Harriet G. Jonasen
Harriet G. Jonasen, 83, of Boulder City died Tuesday in Boulder City. She was born April 15, 1915, in Orient, S.D. A resident for 23 years, she was a retired registered nurse who served in Europe and Africa during World War II in the Army Air Corps.
She is survived by one sister, Geraldine Hansen of Orient.
Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
William E. Kolber
William E. Kolber, 63, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born July 6, 1935, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 26 years, he was a Vietnam War Air Force veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Mitchell and Russell.
Graveside services were scheduled 11 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.
Laverne Marie Krueger
Laverne Marie Krueger, 74, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born June 23, 1924, in Cicero, Ill. A resident for many years, she was an office worker for a telephone manufacturer.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond.
No local services are scheduled. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Eddie Murino
Eddie Murino, 65, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born May 10, 1933, in Memphis, Tenn. A resident for 19 years, he was a retired retail salesman and a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Cathy Cunningham of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Toni Hayes of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Ethel Norris and Alice Geissler, both of Memphis, Tenn.
Services will 9:30 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
Ilse H. Perkons
Ilse H. Perkons, 62, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 23, 1936, in Koeln-Kalk, Germany. A resident for 25 years, she was a retired casino auditor.
She is survived by one daughter, Petra Perkons-Bozarth of Las Vegas; one son, Rainer Perkons of Kendall Park, N.J.; one brother, Ulrich Hilbrich of Eschwege, Germany; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
Olivine M. Pierro
Olivine M. Pierro, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 7, 1919, in Westford, Mass. A resident for 53 years, she was a homemaker, a member of Young at Heart Club and a choir member of Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Albert; two sons, Albert Pierro Jr. and Robert Pierro, and one daughter, Carolyn Hightower, all of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive. Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
Maurrie Daniel Shavinsky
Maurrie Daniel Shavinsky, 59, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 14, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio. A resident for 42 years, he was a retired surveyor for the Department of Transportation and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; two daughters, Mandy Shavinsky and Stacy Shavinsky, and his mother, Louise Shavinsky, all of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Charles Simmons
Charles Simmons, 64, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born April 14, 1934, in Bloomington, Ill. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired police officer and a Korean War Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Sue, owner of Hubcaps Unlimited; three daughters, Cindy and Candy, both of Bloomington, and Tammy Minton of Las Vegas; two sons, David Fenner of White Pigeon, Mich., and Tod Simmons of Las Vegas; three sisters, Bernice Van Hook and Ann Simmons, both of Bloomington, and Louise Koboski of Las Vegas; four brothers, Howard Simmons and Frank Simmons, both of Bloomington, Edward Simmons of Hillsboro, Ore., and Jessie Simmons of Lawrenceville, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 1 p.m. services Saturday in the Viking LDS Ward Chapel, 3901 E. Viking Road. Graveside services will be private.
DeWitt Tidwell Jr.
DeWitt Tidwell Jr., 63, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 6, 1935, in Oklahoma City. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired executive director for a manufacturing company, a Korean War Air Force veteran, a member of Elks Lodge 1297 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1504.
He is survived two daughters, Toni Moore of San Angelo, Texas, and Nikki Lewis of Dallas; one son, DeWitt Tidwell III of Dallas; one sister, Barbara Bruce of Villa Ridge Mo.; one brother, Raymond Virgen of Washington, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 12:40 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Lester C. Walters
Lester C. Walters, 66, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born June 13, 1932, in Yellville, Ark. A resident for 12 years, he was a clown, a member of Masonic Lodge Nellis 46, Scottish Rite, Valley of the Orient, 32nd Degree, Hiram Council, York Rite, Zelzah Shrine, World Clown Association and Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, voted Rookie of the Year by the World Clown Association and was active as a clown for the Zelzah Shrine.
He is survived by his wife, Katsuko; one daughter, Kathy Bradley of Tracy, Calif.; two sons, Lester Walters of Victorville, Calif., and Bari Walters of Sonora, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Masonic Temple, 2200 W. Mesquite Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to Shriners Children's Hospital, Zelzah Shrine Temple, 2222 W. Mesquite Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89106.
